Since it’s early access on XBOX via Microsoft’s Game Preview program, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds developers are experiencing hardships on getting rid of the performance issues and bug fixes in the game. When you consider the popularity of the game and the amount of players playing the game across the globe everyday, it’s obvious that it is challenging to do major changes and carry the game to a brand new platform.
It took nearly a year for the full game to be released on console after the full PC version. The final release for XBOX and PS4 was in September 2018. After the full game release the XBOX updates were mostly focused on performance and bug fixes. Some of the bugs and issues on performance are still present to this day. In February 15th, games developers stated that there will be a next big XBOX update to fix the problems still existing in the game but when the day for the update has come, PUBG once again stated that due to technical issues the update was delayed to a week further.
Though some fans were still pissed they just let it go as the console team stated ”…due to technical issues which would result in further harm to game stability, we made the difficult decision to push back the patch date..”. Fans took this statement and trusted the developers once again and finally in March 5th the XBOX update was out. Though the major problems were fixed, there is still more to do. If the dissatisfaction continues amongst players, it will not be a surprise to see fall of one of the most anticipated games of 2018 and possibly the biggest influencer on battle royale gaming.
