PUBG Season 5 is now live on all platforms including Xbox One and PlayStation 4, bringing updates to the Miramar. Since PUBG is a game that has been around for a while, two of its oldest maps have gotten changes to keep up with the rest and leave the burden of feeling old.
Last Season a visual update on Erangel occurred and this time on Miramar, rather than focusing on how the map looks, the developers brought multiple quality of life improvements such as item spawn balance.
Miramar New Item Spawn Rates
- Assault Rifles: 12% increase
- Scopes: 18% increase
- Win94: 30% increase
- SR: 42% increase
- DMR: 29% increase
- Pistols: 31% decrease
- In addition to these, spawn rates of vests, bags, and helmets increased
Vending Machines Added
Similar to how it works in Fortnite Battle Royale, PUBG caught up with the vending machines. Unlike how it is in Fortnite, Vending Machines in PUBG are placed randomly in Miramar and Camp Jackal. So we won’t be seeing any of these in Erangel or Vikendi.
- You can get Painkillers and Energy Drinks from Vending Machines
- Vending Machines can be found on Arenas, Gas Stations, Motels, and Arenas.
- If the Vending Machine takes any form of damage, it may reveal your location to the nearby enemies.
Throwing Items in Season 5
A new feature that allows players to throw items to other teammates added. When your teammate requests ammo or healing items, an icon will appear at the screen and upon pressing it, you will automatically throw those items if you have any in stock.
In addition to helping teammates, you can now throw melee weapons to enemies. Every melee weapon in the game can be thrown up to a 40 meters throwing distance and the damage will increase from 25 to 75 based on the distance. The closer you are to the enemy, the more damage it will deal.
Quick Ping on Consoles
You can use Quick Pings to put markers on the map just like in the PC version. To use them, first enable it on the settings and tap the R-Stick on Xbox and R3 on PS4.
